How do permanent holiday lights work?
Permanent holiday lights use individually controlled LED bulbs installed along the roofline of a home. Using a mobile app, homeowners can select colors, patterns, animations, and schedules without the need to hang or remove lights each season.
Are permanent outdoor lights worth it?
Many homeowners choose permanent outdoor lighting to eliminate the yearly hassle of installing holiday lights while gaining year-round lighting flexibility. In addition to convenience, permanent systems can enhance curb appeal, safety, and long-term value.
How much do permanent holiday lights cost?
Permanent holiday lighting typically costs $18 to $35 per linear foot. The range accounts for location, structure size, time of year and more. How long do permanent LED lights last?
Trimlight bulbs are rated past 50,000 hours and are backed by a manufacturer lifetime product warranty. All parts are guaranteed for the manufacturer's estimated lifespan of the parts, which depends on how much that part is used. Used properly, components average around 20 to 30 years. If a system is only run around the holidays, that figure can reach 30 to 40 years.
How much energy does Trimlight use?
The Trimlight 3L consumes 0.9 watts per bulb and the Trimlight Classic consumes 0.6 watts per bulb. Both run on 12V low voltage and both are dimmable, so real draw drops further at lower brightness.
How many colors can I show at once?
You can show up to 30 colors at a time and program up to 90 lights of each color. For example you could program 90 red, 15 orange, 1 purple and 5 white in the same pattern. The rule is no more than 90 lights per color, and up to 30 different colors in each pattern you create. The app holds up to 60 saved patterns.
Can I control the lights from my phone?
Yes. Trimlight systems are controlled through the Trimlight Edge app, which adjusts colors, patterns, and schedules from a smartphone or tablet whether you are at home or away. The system connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and also supports voice control through Google Home and Alexa.
How do they look during the day?
The patented channel system is designed to match the color of the roofline, blending in seamlessly to hide the wires from view. It locks the lights securely in place and is hardly noticeable during the day. Trimlight offers over 50 aluminum channel colors, and can provide other colors if none of them match.
